Maternal Wisdom

Mother(s),

I suppose if one wanted to offer gratitude,
one could buy a card,
purchase some flowers,
give a hug,
or buy some dinner.

But if gratitude was to truly be offered, one might step back and consider what a mother is…

Mother’s are unique to all life in this world.

They fulfill the most vital of all human needs and embody maternal wisdom.

The most basic of all human NEEDS is love and connection, yet love and connection often seem to be very elusive in a society of facebook, texting, and television.  While many of us long for this connection, acceptance, and for this sense of “oneness,” many of us often express a feeling of isolation, separation, or disconnection from others.

Yet mother’s seem to posses a unique power.

As if God decided to bless humanity with a promise of love.

Interwoven into this promise was maternal wisdom.

While yang forces change, commands power, and compels us forward,
yin patiently sustains, offers restoration, and renews our strength.

This maternal wisdom is seen most clearly in the deep rooted instinct within the feminine psyche to renew, restore, lift up, nurture, raise, care for and most of all…  love.  And this form of love is the purest of all forms of love.  Completely self-less, self-sacrificing, and unconditional.

This form of love is an example for all of humanity, one that is passed down generation after generation.  It is a gift given in silence within any form of family.  Sometimes it is a family by blood, sometimes it is a family by choosing, regardless of how a family is formed – there is one truth – maternal wisdom is present and its love is the glue that holds us together.

All of humanity is renewed and protected by this maternal wisdom.

Fear, despair, doubt, uncertainty, debt, politics, media, folly, foolishness linger around all of us like a dense cloud of suffocating darkness.  But such darkness cannot encroach upon the warm glow of maternal wisdom.  Woe be to those who would wake a lioness.  One truth has remained steady in humanity…

Neither fear nor force guides or unites us – rather – it is the ever patient flows of maternal wisdom reminding us all that we are family – siblings of many forms, shapes, and colors – a family of families united under one truth.  All of us have a mother – and without this divinely orchestrated maternal wisdom – we would not and could not exist.

On behalf of all children…

I’d like to extend a truly warmhearted, humble, and unconditional expression of gratitude and love.

No one is perfect.

But the unconditional love given through maternal wisdom IS perfection.

Moms, Mothers, and Mommies…

Thank you for all you do, have done, and will do (especially the little things we overlook).

Love ya mom(s).

Happy Mother’s Day.

Ryan

Thanks for this message Ryan. I agree, mothers are oftentimes overlooked…

    It’s sad really.

My mother personally believes that mothers day should be celebrated everyday… Lol

I merely believe that mothers should be thanked, and recognized, for the things they do, big or small.

    Great message Ryan.

    Hi,

Fun day today – the only thing that would be better is if my son was still in the Pro tennis tournament rather than going and watching his friend. I received an interesting present from my kids, they know I drink Green Tea….this variety seems to be something you open and it blooms in your pot of tea……gotta figure that out! It is not big on instructions.

Love my family and had some other great new today that I am really thankful for!

    Cheers

    Lyn

    Hi Ryan,

This is beautiful. What a good description of the essence of mother. I know a lot of men who have the same essence of love. Maybe someday there will be a blend of yin and yang that will be the ultimate love. Just pure love.

    Love and laughter,
    Vicki
